Bali Crowned World's Happiest Tourist Destination 2022

Club Med released a list of the world's 10 happiest travel destinations for 2022. From a list of 50 of the most visited destinations, the institution's research found that Bali is a popular destination for those seeking a happy and stress-free vacation.

Bali ranked first with a happiness index score of 73.7 points, thanks to its diverse range of high-quality spas and wellness centers. In addition, the "Island of the Gods" also offers exceptional outdoor activities, perfect for those seeking relaxation and adventure during their holiday.

After Bali, Las Vegas ranked second as the happiest travel destination due to its abundance of outdoor activities. The Nevada city also boasts a high safety score, achieving 67.1 points on the happiness index scale.

Third on the list is New Orleans, which scored highest on the LGBTQ+ friendliness scale and received a 67.1 score on the travel happiness index.

Europe also emerged as a strong contender for happy travel destinations, with two destinations ranking in the top five. Although Amsterdam placed fifth, Club Med noted that the Dutch city is among the top 10 European cities with the lowest crime rates, scoring 33.6 out of 100. Meanwhile, Budapest is a destination where tourists will find the cheapest domestic beer.

Club Med's research measured cities based on nine metrics: crime, safety, pollution, cost of domestic beer, outdoor activities, day trips, spas and wellness centers, LGBTQ+ friendliness, and overall happiness of each city on a scale of 0-100.
