Mathematics: A Subject Frequently Accessed Through Digital Learning

Enuma School, a provider of digital learning applications, released a report titled *Perceptions of Learning Companions Towards the Adoption of Digital Learning Applications as Learning Aids*.

The survey results show that mathematics is the subject most frequently accessed by respondents through digital learning applications (DLAs), accounting for 59.82% of all respondents.

"This phenomenon is interesting, considering observations of society indicate that mathematics is considered a daunting subject," Enuma School wrote in its report.

The research team suspects that the interactive presentation of the material is a factor driving the high utilization of mathematics materials.

This enthusiasm for mathematics aligns with one of the six priority programs of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), now the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen): strengthening literacy and numeracy.

"Hopefully, through Enuma's curated learning content, we can support the government's digital learning program," said Yudhistira Nugraha, Head of the Data and Information Center at Kemendikbudristek, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

The next most accessed subjects via DLAs were Indonesian (56.79%), English (45.98%), Science (16.07%), Social Studies (10.71%), and other subjects (8.04%).

The survey also found the frequency of DLA access per week. 58.48% of respondents accessed DLAs 2-3 times a week. 16.52% used DLAs 4-5 times a week; 14.29% once a week; and 16.52% 4-5 times a week (Note: there's a repetition in the original text).

Enuma School's research was conducted as part of the Inclusive Business Solution (IBS) program of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The survey involved 302 respondents, consisting of parents/guardians of kindergarten and elementary school children (53.65%) and teachers (46.36%).

Data collection was conducted online from October 8-16, 2024. The survey has a margin of error of 5% and a confidence level of 95%.
