The Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) reports that 60.73% of domestic investors were located on Java Island as of March 2022.
Cumulatively, investors on Java Island held assets worth Rp4.02 quadrillion. This represents approximately 96.09% of the total domestic capital market investment assets recorded in KSEI's electronic system, the Central Depository and Book Entry Settlement System (C-BEST).
Another 16.53% of domestic investors were located on Sumatra Island, with assets worth Rp87.79 trillion, equivalent to 2.10% of the total assets.
Furthermore, 5.4% of domestic investors were located on Kalimantan Island, 4.04% on Sulawesi Island, and 3.33% on Bali and Nusa Tenggara Islands, contributing between 0.3% and 1% to the total assets as of March 2022.
Maluku and Papua Islands recorded the smallest proportion of domestic investors as of March 2022, at 0.97%. They held cumulative assets of Rp3.98 trillion, or approximately 0.1% of the total assets.
