More Indonesian Gen Z individuals utilize social media as their primary source for news, according to the IDN Research Institute and Advisia's *Indonesia Gen Z Report 2024*.

73% of respondents cited social media as their main source of information. Another 19% used digital media.

The survey, conducted from May 29 to July 9, 2023, involved 602 Gen Z respondents across 10 Indonesian cities and agglomerations: Jabodetabek, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Palembang, Medan, Balikpapan, and Makassar.

IDN Research Institute defines Gen Z as males and females aged 11-26 in 2023, the duration of the survey.
