Indonesia's human resource (HR) competitiveness declined since the Covid-19 pandemic and only started to strengthen again in 2023.

Using this method, in 2023 Indonesia scored 51.13 out of 100 points, ranking 47th out of 64 countries surveyed.

Indonesia's score has improved compared to 2022. However, the level is still lower than the pre-pandemic year of 2019, as shown in the graph.

According to IMD, in 2023 Indonesia's education budget was still relatively low, ranking 55th out of 64 countries.

Indonesia is also considered to have a shortage of teachers for secondary education, resulting in a student-teacher ratio ranking 53rd out of 64 countries.

Indonesian students' performance based on PISA tests was also not outstanding, ranking 56th out of 64 countries in the IMD database.
