The wave of layoffs (PHK) has continuously hit Indonesian startups over the past year. Conversely, several local startups are reportedly actively increasing their workforce.
According to a report released by Revou, the quick-commerce e-grocery startup Astro, is the local startup with the highest employee growth from May 2022 to May 2023.
"Astro has experienced positive employee growth over the past 1 year and 6 months, increasing by 69.2% (332 people) over the past year," Revou stated in its report, as quoted on Tuesday (23/5/2023).
According to Revou's LinkedIn Post data, Astro is actively recruiting for several positions such as social media strategist, growth strategy analyst, stock count officer, agency partnership specialist, campaign analyst, graphic designer, and others.
Next, eFishery is ranked second with the highest employee growth in the last year, increasing by 58.5% or 571 employees. Recently, this Indonesian agritech startup achieved unicorn status after securing US$108 million (Rp1.61 trillion) in Series D funding.
Following are Tiket.com, Kredivo, and Amartha with employee growth of 21.8%, 20.3%, and 20% respectively over the past year.

Companies were selected based on research from "Most Funded" and "Recently Funded" articles on Tech in Asia and Daily Social, and according to RevoU's internal filtering system.
According to Revou, companies on the list must have experienced a minimum of 10% employee growth or an addition of 100 employees.
