Many Gen Z and Millennials Worldwide Use Generative AI for Work: Here Are the Types

According to Deloitte's *2025 Gen Z and Millennial Survey*, 57% of Gen Z and 56% of Millennials globally are already using generative AI (GenAI) in their daily work.

GenAI is utilized for at least eight types of work. First, data analysis, chosen by 39% of Gen Z and 42% of Millennials.

Then, 37% of Gen Z and 39% of Millennials use GenAI for content creation, such as writing articles, posting content on social media, or creating video scripts.

Design and creative-related work is also significant. The Deloitte survey shows 36% of Gen Z and 36% of Millennials use GenAI for these purposes.

Furthermore, Gen Z and Millennials utilize GenAI for project management, strategy creation, training, software development, and customer support, with respective percentages of 32% and 34%.

Deloitte states that these findings demonstrate the versatility of GenAI's use by these two generations. Therefore, it's revealed that Gen Z and Millennials acknowledge GenAI's contribution to improving their work quality.

However, according to Deloitte, both Gen Z and Millennials also have concerns that this technology will reduce job opportunities and make it more difficult for young people to enter the workforce in the future.

In the *2025 Gen Z and Millennial Survey*, Deloitte involved 23,482 respondents, comprising 14,751 Gen Z and 8,731 Millennials from 44 countries across North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

The survey was conducted using self-administered online interviews, with fieldwork completed between October 25th and December 24th, 2024. Qualitative interviews were also conducted from December 19th, 2024, to January 10th, 2025.

Gen Z respondents in the survey were born between January 1995 and December 2006. Millennial respondents were born between January 1983 and December 1994.
