This is the Indonesian Public's Concern Regarding the Use of AI

A JakPat survey reveals that the majority, or 93%, of respondents claim to be aware of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. "Although helpful, many are concerned about the existence of AI," JakPat wrote in a report titled *Understanding AI Usage Today*.

Of this group, 64% of respondents expressed concern about AI, believing it will make humans overly reliant on technology. Furthermore, 63% fear AI could be misused for crimes such as fraud, deepfakes, and others. Following this, 61% believe AI technology can decrease a person's creativity.

Further concerns included the risk of unemployment (55%), difficulty distinguishing between human-made and AI-generated work (49%), security and privacy risks (48%), and the potential reduction of independent analytical and decision-making abilities (41%).

This JakPat survey involved 1,423 respondents, narrowed down to 1,334 who claimed to know about AI. Respondents consisted of 52% men and 48% women.

Respondents were located in non-Jabodetabek Java (50%), Jabodetabek (34%), and outside Java (16%). Respondents were from the millennial generation (29-44 years old) at 44%, Gen Z (15-28 years old) at 42%, and Gen X (45-50 years old) at 14%.

The survey was conducted online via the JakPat application from April 10-14, 2025, with a margin of error below 5%.
