List of Countries with the Most Data Centers in the World

The United States holds the top spot as the country with the most data centers. As of 2024, the country has 5,388 data centers. Following the US in first place is Germany in second with 522 data centers, and the United Kingdom in third with 517 data centers.

Research conducted by the Brightlio team estimates that there are currently 10,978 data centers worldwide, spread across many countries. The electricity consumption to supply these data centers has also doubled compared to 2022, when it was only 4.9 gigawatts.

This growth is primarily driven by the expansion of online streaming services and the increased adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Product and service innovations are also contributing to the overall rapid and promising growth of the data center sector.
