The Indonesian government reported that the 2024 National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas), held from December 10-16, 2024, generated transactions totaling Rp31.2 trillion (approximately US$2.08 billion based on December 2024 exchange rates).

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto detailed that approximately 98 million people shopped during the 2024 Harbolnas, with an average spending of Rp318,000 (approximately US$21.20) per person.

Local products accounted for 52% of the total Harbolnas 2024 transaction value, amounting to Rp16.1 trillion (approximately US$1.07 billion), a 31% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

"Once a market for local products is established, supply will automatically follow. This step can also help reduce dependence on imported products," Airlangga stated in a press release from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

The 2024 Harbolnas achievement grew by 21.4% YoY compared to the transaction value of the 2023 Harbolnas, which was Rp25.7 trillion (approximately US$1.71 billion). However, this year's Harbolnas transaction value fell short of the government's target of Rp40 trillion (approximately US$2.66 billion).

Furthermore, 407 participants took part in Harbolnas 2024, ranging from merchants and online retailers to marketplace providers.
