"Oppenheimer" Becomes the Most Pirated Film of 2023

Muso, a UK-based anti-piracy company, has released a list of the 10 most popular pirated films of 2023.

The data was compiled from various pirate film websites, ranging from illegal streaming services and torrent sites to illegal film download platforms.

Of the 10 popular films analyzed, *Oppenheimer* (2023) was recorded as the most pirated film last year, with a market share of 15.38% of total pirated film demand in 2023.

Next in line was *Avatar: The Way of Water* (2022) with a market share of 14.63%, and *John Wick: Chapter 4* with 11.18%.

Muso noted that this list does not include any films released after July 2024. This indicates that last year was dominated by popular film titles that are usually the main contributors to film piracy demand.

The following is a list of the 10 most pirated films with the largest audience market share in 2023, according to Muso:

1. *Oppenheimer* (2023): 15.38%
2. *Avatar: The Way of Water* (2022): 14.63%
3. *John Wick: Chapter 4* (2023): 11.18%
4. *Transformers: Rise of the Beasts* (2023): 9.19%
5. *Puss in Boots: The Last Wish* (2022): 8.79%
6. *Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1* (2023): 8.50%
7. *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3* (2023): 8.43%
8. *Barbie* (2023): 8.40%
9. *The Super Mario Bros. Movie* (2023): 8.03%
10. *Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse* (2023): 7.48%

Furthermore, Muso reported that India had the highest number of accesses to pirated films, accounting for 30.56% of total visits to pirate film websites in 2023.

"This indicates that film piracy has become a normal method of film consumption in this country," wrote Muso in its report.

This was followed by the United States (6.28%), Turkey (5.75%), Pakistan (3.51%), and Indonesia (3.50%).
