According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the total global shipment volume of smartphones from various brands in Q1 2024 reached 289.4 million units, a 7.8% increase year-on-year (YoY) compared to Q1 2023.

According to IDC, the decline in Apple's shipment performance was influenced by competition with Chinese vendors, such as Xiaomi and Transsion, whose market penetration is becoming increasingly aggressive.

However, the shipment volumes of both Xiaomi and Transsion remained below Apple's. IDC reported that in Q1 2024, Xiaomi's smartphone shipments increased by 33.8% YoY to 40.8 million units, and Transsion's surged by 84.9% YoY to 28.5 million units.

Another Chinese manufacturer, Oppo, followed in the next position with shipment volumes of 25.2 million units, down 8.5% YoY.

Meanwhile, the combined shipment volume of smartphones from other brands reached 84.7 million units, growing by 7.2% YoY.
