Indonesia's national U-17 team suffered a 3-1 defeat against Morocco in their final Group A match of the 2023 U-17 World Cup at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, on Thursday evening (16/11/2023).
Morocco took a two-goal lead thanks to Anas Alaoui's 29th-minute penalty and Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal's 38th-minute header.
Bima Sakti's team pulled one back through Nabil Asyura's goal in the 42nd minute. However, Indonesia failed to score again in the second half, allowing Morocco to extend their lead through Mohammed Harmony's 64th-minute goal.
This was Indonesia's first defeat in the 2023 U-17 World Cup; previously, the Garuda Muda (Young Eagles) had drawn against Ecuador and Panama.
