According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), global smartphone shipments in Q2 2023 reached 268 million units. This figure is down 6.8% year-on-year (YoY) compared to Q2 2022.

Samsung recorded the largest decline in smartphone shipments, a 15.2% YoY decrease to 53.5 million units in Q2 2023. Despite this, the South Korean brand's global smartphone shipments still outperformed Apple's, remaining the largest among all brands.

Apple's iPhone shipments totaled 44.5 million units in Q2 2023, down 2% YoY. This was followed by Xiaomi, which experienced the steepest decline at 15.9% YoY, reaching 33.2 million units, and OPPO, which saw a 7.5% YoY decrease to 25.4 million units.

On the other hand, shipments from the Chinese brand Transsion increased by 34.44% YoY to 25.3 million units in the April-June 2023 period.

Meanwhile, the cumulative volume of smartphone shipments from other brands fell by 7.8% YoY to 86 million units in Q2 2023.
