The 2024 Digital News Report published by the Reuters Institute compiled data on electronic media (television and radio), and print media still used by Indonesians in 2024.
Forty-three percent of Indonesian respondents reported using TVOne as their primary source of electronic news within a week. Even for usage three days a week, 32% of respondents still watched this media outlet owned by the Aburizal Bakrie conglomerate.
Second highest was the print media Kompas, chosen by 41% of respondents. Third was Metro TV, chosen by 36% of respondents.
Kompas TV followed in fourth place as the most consumed electronic media, at 33%. Fifth was Liputan 6 SCTV with 27%.
The remaining electronic media outlets included TransTV (24%), CNN Indonesia (23%), RCTI (21%), and Indosiar (15%). Last was the print platform Media Indonesia, chosen by 14% of respondents.
This survey involved 2,008 Indonesians. This Study of Journalism was conducted by YouGov using an online questionnaire in late January-early February 2024.
