Jakarta's Digital Competitiveness Remains the Best in Indonesia

DKI Jakarta remained the province with the best Digital Competitiveness Index (East Ventures Digital Competitiveness Index/EV-DCI) in Indonesia in 2021. The nation's capital achieved 77.6 points on a scale of 0-100 points. However, its score decreased by 2.1 points from the previous year.

West Java and East Java followed with 57.1 points and 48 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Bali, just below them, surged three ranks, rising 7.1 points from 2020. The province's EV-DCI reached 47.7 points this year.

Overall, the EV-DCI in Indonesia shows improvement due to the increasing evenness of digital competitiveness among provinces. This condition is evidenced by the increase in the EV-DCI score from 27.9 points in 2020 to 32.1 points in 2021. This achievement was driven by infrastructure development and increased spending on information and communication technology.

The EV-DCI is a collaboration between East Ventures and the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) to measure the comparative digital competitiveness of all provinces in Indonesia. A total of 53 indicators were used as guidelines for calculating the results, such as human resources, the economy, and infrastructure.
