Fabio Quartararo, rider for the Monster Energy Yamaha team, won the 2022 Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix.
The French rider dominated at the Algarve Circuit, securing first place with 25 points and a time of 41 minutes 39.611 seconds.
The number 20 MotoGP rider achieved his first top-place win of the 2022 racing season. This result also put Quartararo in the lead of the provisional standings with 69 points after the 5th round.
Johann Zarco, MotoGP rider for the Pramac Racing team (number 5), finished second with 20 points. Aleix Espargaro (number 41) came in third with 16 points.
Alex Rins, MotoGP rider for the Suzuki Ecstar team (number 42), finished fourth with 13 points, followed by Miguel Oliveira from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team in fifth place with 11 points.
Marc Marquez from the Repsol Honda team finished sixth with 10 points. Alex Marquez from the LCR Honda Castrol team finished seventh with 9 points.
Francesco Bagnaia from the Ducati Lenovo team earned 8 points after finishing eighth. Pol Espargaro from the Repsol Honda team earned 7 points after finishing ninth.
Finally, Maverick Viñales from the Aprilia Racing team earned 6 points after finishing tenth.
