Liverpool has cemented its record as the most successful football club in the English League Cup, also known as the Carabao Cup.
According to Transfermarkt data, The Reds secured their 10th title after defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, February 25, 2024. The Reds' victory was secured by Virgil van Dijk's goal in the 118th minute.
The Reds lifted the Carabao Cup trophy despite fielding many young players due to injuries. This included players such as Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Diogo Jota.
However, the Merseyside club managed to bring home the League Cup trophy, giving a parting gift to Jürgen Klopp, who announced his departure from the manager's position at the end of the season.
In total, the German coach has won eight trophies for Liverpool. These include the Champions League (2018-2019), UEFA Super Cup (2019), FIFA Club World Cup (2019), Premier League (2019-2020), FA Cup (2021-2022), Community Shield (2022), and the League Cup (2022 and 2024).
