Indonesia added 8 medals at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games in China on Wednesday (4/10/2023), comprising 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.
However, as of Thursday (5/10/2023) at 07.55 WIB, Indonesia's ranking in the provisional medal standings remained stagnant at 12th place.
According to Antara, Indonesia's 8 additional medals came from five sports: sepak takraw (2 silver), dragon boat (1 silver and 1 bronze), tennis (1 bronze), archery (1 bronze), and sport climbing (2 silver).
The sepak takraw team contributed 2 silver medals at the 2022 Asian Games through the men's and women's quadrant events.
The men's quadrant team, strengthened by Muhammad Hafidz, Rusdi, Dikyapriadi, Muhammad Hardiansyah Muliang, Saiful Rijal, and Abdul Halim Radjiu, won silver after losing 0-2 to Myanmar in the final match with a score of 0-2 (13-21, 22-24) at the Jinhua Sports Centre Gymnasium.
Meanwhile, the women's quadrant team consisting of Leni, Lena, Dita Pratiwi, Fujy Lestari, Florensia Cristy, and Kusnelia also won silver after losing 1-2 (21-18, 18-21, 14-21) to Vietnam in the final match at the same location.
The next silver and bronze medals were won by the men's and women's dragon boat teams in the 200-meter event, which took place at the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Centre. The men's team won silver with a time of 49.404 seconds, while the women's team won bronze with a time of 54.464 seconds.
Next, the men's team soft tennis contributed one bronze medal after losing 0-2 to Taiwan in the semi-final match.
Then, another bronze medal was won by the Indonesian archery duo, Riau Ega Salsabila and Diananda Khoirunisa, in the mixed team recurve event after defeating Iranian representatives, Fallah and Reza Shabani, in the third-place match with a score of 6-2 at the Fuyang Yinhu Sport Centre.
The last two silver medals were contributed by the men's speed relay sport climbing team through Kiromal Katibin, Rahmad Adi Mulyono, and Veddriq Leonardo, and the women's speed relay team through Nurul Iqamah, Rajiah Sallsabillah, and Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi.
Indonesia's two sport climbing events failed to secure gold after being defeated by China.
Overall, there were no significant changes in the top 13 of the provisional medal standings at the 2022 Asian Games. China, as the host team, remained firmly at the top of the standings with 171 gold, 94 silver, and 51 bronze medals.
Qatar managed to climb to 14th place, while Singapore dropped to 15th place.
