The English Premier League table after week 23 saw changes after Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, London, in the early hours of Monday, February 5th, 2024 (WIB).
The Gunners' three goals were scored by Bukayo Saka (14'), Gabriel Martinelli (67'), and Leandro Trossard (90+2'). Liverpool's goal was an own goal by Gabriel Magalhaes in the 45+3rd minute.
Arsenal's victory intensified the competition for the Premier League title this season. Mikel Arteta's team significantly narrowed the points gap with Liverpool.
Liverpool remains at the top of the table despite the loss, with 51 points from 23 matches. The Reds are only two points ahead of Arsenal, who have now overtaken Man City from second place.
Meanwhile, Man City, who will play Brentford in the early hours of Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 (WIB), also has a chance to close the gap in the standings. The Citizens are currently in third place with 46 points from 21 matches.
In a previous match, Manchester United also won against West Ham 3-0 at Old Trafford. This result moved MU up to sixth place with 38 points.
Chelsea, on the other hand, suffered a defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, losing 2-4 at Stamford Bridge. This result caused Mauricio Pochettino's team to drop to 11th place in the Premier League table.
