Java Island is the biggest battleground for politicians vying for votes in the 2024 General Election.
Based on the Permanent Voter List (DPT) officially released by the General Election Commission (KPU), the number of voters on Java Island reaches 115 million people. This accounts for approximately 56% of the total national voters, which number 204.8 million.
The largest political arenas in Java Island are West Java, East Java, and Central Java provinces.
Combined, the number of voters in these three provinces is equivalent to 46% of the total national voters.

Based on KPU Regulation Number 7 of 2022, 2024 General Election voters are Indonesian citizens who meet the following requirements:
(a) At least 17 years old on election day, married, or previously married;
(b) Not currently having their voting rights revoked based on a final and binding court decision;
(c) Domiciled in the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, proven by an e-KTP (electronic ID card);
(d) Domiciled abroad, proven by an e-KTP, passport, and/or travel document in lieu of a passport;
(e) If the voter does not yet have an e-KTP as referred to in (c) and (d), a Family Card may be used; and
(f) Not currently serving as a member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces or the Indonesian National Police.
