The General Election Commission (KPU) has announced 11 panelists for the vice-presidential candidate (cawapres) debate to be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 7:00 PM WIB.
This debate will focus on the theme of People's and Digital Economy, Finance, Investment, Taxation, Trade, Management of the State Budget (APBN) and Regional Budget (APBD), Infrastructure, and Urban Development.
The majority of the vice-presidential debate panelists are academics from various Indonesian universities. A small number are practitioners.
The following is a list of the 11 vice-presidential debate panelists based on their backgrounds:
Academics
1. Adhitya Wardhono (Lecturer, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jember)
2. Agustinus Prasetyantoko (Rector of Universitas Katolik Indonesia Alma Jaya 2015-2023)
3. Fausan Al Rasyid (Dean, Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung)
4. Hyronimus Rowa (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Innovation, IPDN)
5. Poppy Ismalina (Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, UGM)
6. Retno Agustina Ekaputri (Rector of Bengkulu University 2021-2025)
7. Suharnomo (Dean, Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University)
8. Tauhid Ahmad (Lecturer, Faculty of Economics and Business, National Development University Veteran Jakarta)
Practitioners
1. Alamsyah Saragih (Member of the Indonesian Ombudsman 2016-2020)
2. Hendri Saparini (Founder and Economist, CORE Indonesia)

The moderators for this vice-presidential debate will be Alfito Deannova, Editor-in-Chief of *Detik.com*, and Liviana Cherlisa, producer of *Kompas TV*.
KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari stated that the vice-presidential debate will be divided into six segments.
The first segment will feature the presentation of each vice-presidential candidate's vision, mission, and work program.
The second and third segments will include question-and-answer sessions with the vice-presidential candidates. In the fourth and fifth segments, each vice-presidential candidate will pose questions to the other candidates.
Then, in the sixth segment, the vice-presidential candidates will deliver their closing statements.
"As we have all followed in the first debate, the presidential debate, the (vice-presidential) debate format will be exactly the same, so there will be 6 segments," said Hasyim, as quoted by *Katadata*, Monday (December 18, 2023).
