Securing 27 Million Votes, PDI-P Wins DPR General Election

The General Election Commission (KPU) announced in a plenary session that the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) won the 2019 House of Representatives (DPR) Legislative Election (Pileg) with 27.05 million votes, or 19.33%. Gerindra and Golkar came in second and third, respectively, with 17.59 million votes (12.57%) and 17.23 million votes (12.31%).

Besides these three parties, six other parties secured seats in the House of Representatives. The National Awakening Party (PKB) came in fourth with 13.57 million votes (9.69%). The Nasdem Party came in fifth with 12.66 million votes (9.05%). The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) came in sixth with 11.49 million votes (8.21%).

The Democratic Party came in seventh with 10.88 million votes (7.77%). The National Mandate Party (PAN) came in eighth with 9.57 million votes (6.84%). The United Development Party came in ninth with 6.32 million votes (4.52%).

Seven other parties failed to secure seats in the House of Representatives because their vote totals fell below the parliamentary threshold of 4%. The total number of voters in the Indonesian House of Representatives Pileg reached 199.98 million. Valid votes totaled 139.97 million.
