A Glimpse Inside Gibran's Garage: The Vice Presidential Candidate Supporting Prabowo in the 2024 Presidential Election

Gibran Rakabuming Raka has officially become the prospective vice presidential candidate (bacawapres) to accompany the prospective presidential candidate (bacapres) Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres).

This decision was announced by Prabowo after a meeting with the United Indonesia Coalition (KIM) at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Sunday evening (22/10/2023). KIM consists of the Gerindra, Golkar, Democrat, PAN, PBB, Gelora, Prima, and Garuda parties.

KIM agreed to nominate Prabowo-Gibran to run in the 2024 Presidential Election. "This is a unanimous acclamation and consensus decision, and we are ready to advance for a progressive Indonesia," said Prabowo, as reported by Katadata.co.id, Sunday (22/10/2023).

Prabowo stated that he and Gibran will register their candidacy with the General Election Commission (KPU) on the last day of registration for bacapres and bacawapres, Wednesday (25/10/2023).

The Prabowo-Gibran pairing is the only one that has not yet registered with the KPU. Previously, the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pairings had registered earlier on the first day of registration, Thursday (19/10/2023).

Regardless, how valuable is the content of Gibran's garage?

According to data from the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Gibran Rakabuming Raka owned seven units of transportation worth Rp332 million in 2022. This movable asset was reported by the Solo Mayor on January 30, 2023.

Specifically, the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) owns four cars and three motorcycles. The most expensive vehicle in his garage is a 2016 Toyota Avanza worth Rp90 million.

Meanwhile, the cheapest vehicle owned by this PDI-P politician is a 1974 Honda CB-125 motorcycle worth Rp5 million.

Then, Gibran's cash and cash equivalents are recorded at Rp3.1 billion, and other assets at Rp5.55 billion. On the other hand, the owner of the Mangkokku restaurant also has debts totaling Rp551.58 million.

Gibran, currently 36 years old, is eligible to run as vice president after the Constitutional Court (MK) granted a lawsuit regarding the minimum age requirement for presidential and vice-presidential candidates on Monday (16/10/2023).

The MK granted the lawsuit and stated that presidential and vice-presidential candidates must be at least 40 years old or have held/are holding a position elected through a general election, including regional head elections.
