The success of gubernatorial candidate pairs Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok)-Djarot Saiful Hidayat and Anies Rasyid Baswedan-Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno will compete for the votes of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni's supporters in the second round of the Jakarta gubernatorial election. In the Jakarta gubernatorial election on February 15, 2017, the number of votes for the Agus-Sylvi pair reached 936,609.
The largest number of Agus-Sylvi supporters was in East Jakarta, reaching 309,000 votes. Meanwhile, the second largest number of Agus-Sylvi supporters was in West Jakarta with 202,000 votes. In these two regions, Agus-Sylvi supporters accounted for 55 percent of the vote. In the first round of the election, the Ahok-Djarot pair won in four regions: Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. The Anies-Sandi pair only won in two regions: East Jakarta and South Jakarta.
According to the General Election Commission's count, the Ahok-Djarot pair, with number 2, won with 42.96 percent of the vote. In second place was the Anies-Sandi pair with 39.97 percent of the vote. These two pairs will compete again in the second round of the Jakarta gubernatorial election, scheduled for April 19, 2017. Meanwhile, the Agus-Sylvi pair came in third with 17.07 percent of the vote and was eliminated from the race for governor and deputy governor for the 2017-2021 period.
