Indef Continuum analyzed netizen conversation sentiment on social media regarding the second-year programs of the Prabowo Subianto–Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration.

The results show that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) priority program reaped the highest negative sentiment, reaching 76.9% of total conversations filtered from January to September 2026, while positive sentiment stood at only 23.1%.

"Cases of food poisoning from the MBG menu and the composition of MBG officials also drew scrutiny for being deemed to have unsuitable backgrounds," Indef Continuum wrote in its report.

Additionally, downstreaming and industrialization, as well as Danantara, also received greater negative sentiment.

Regarding downstreaming and industrialization, Indef Continuum assessed that regional economic growth and agricultural-plantation downstreaming received positive appreciation, but mining management issues and environmental impacts from downstreaming were viewed negatively by netizens.

Meanwhile, the majority negative assessment of Danantara stemmed from netizen fears that the program would only become a new breeding ground for corruption.

"There were calls to withdraw money from Himbara banks because it is now managed by Danantara," researchers said.

On the other hand, the Community Schools, food self-sufficiency, and Free Medical Check-Up (CKG) programs garnered positive public appreciation.

"These programs were considered to provide direct benefits to the community," said Indef Continuum.

These conversations were analyzed from 635,000 accounts across four social media platforms: X (Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. The volume of shared conversations totaled 17.3 million shares and retweets, gathered using crawling methods from January to September 2026.

Data was cleaned of duplication, irrelevant content, and accounts identified as bots or buzzers, followed by topic, sentiment, and conversation exposure analysis.

Indef Continuum provided a methodological note that this research measures netizen conversation sentiment. Although it is not a representative survey of the entire Indonesian population, with a sample size of over half a million accounts, the big data research results represent the tech- and info-savvy demographic group.
