Poltracking Indonesia conducted a survey on the electability of gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates in a simulation of the 2024 Central Java Regional Elections (Pilkada).

The results show that the pair Ahmad Luthfi and Taj Yasin Maimoen achieved the highest electability, reaching 52.2%.

Meanwhile, their opponents, Andika Perkasa and Hendrar Prihadi, followed with 31.4% of the vote from respondents.

However, 16.4% of respondents have yet to decide on their support for the 2024 Central Java Pilkada.

Poltracking Indonesia Executive Director Hanta Yuda assessed that, within a margin of error of 2.9%, the electability of the two candidate pairs has a significant difference.

"But because the Pilkada is still two months away, the dynamics of politics are very likely to change," said Hanta in his online survey presentation on Tuesday (24/9/2024).

According to him, several variables could change the electoral map, such as the effectiveness of each candidate's campaign socialization, performance during open debates, and mastery of issues and presentation of vision and mission ideas.

This Poltracking survey involved 1,220 respondents in Central Java who meet the criteria of having voting rights or being married. The sample was selected using a multistage random sampling method.

Data collection was conducted from September 8-14, 2024, using face-to-face interviews. This survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.9% and a 95% confidence level.
