Political Charter: Public Majority Wants IKN Development Accelerated

The Charta Politika survey institute conducted a public opinion poll on the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

The results show that a majority, or 35.4% of respondents, believe that the IKN development should be continued and accelerated.

Furthermore, 27.1% of respondents believe that the IKN development should be evaluated, considering the priority needs of the community.

Then, 17.6% of respondents stated that the IKN should continue, but not using the Indonesian State Budget (APBN).

Meanwhile, 12.6% of respondents believe that the IKN development should be canceled, as it is considered inconsistent with the principles of justice and equitable development. The remaining 7.1% did not know or did not answer.

In line with this, Charta Politika also recorded that a majority, or 63.5% of respondents, agree with the construction of the IKN in East Kalimantan.

On the other hand, 29.3% disagree, and 7.1% did not answer or did not know.

This survey involved 1,220 respondents aged 17 years or older, or who are married. The sample was selected randomly using a multistage random sampling method.

Data collection was conducted from January 4-11, 2024, using face-to-face interviews. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.82% and a 95% confidence level.
