Infrastructure that are Potentially Affected by landslides in Indonesia

According to the Ministry of Public Works (PU), there are 5,722 infrastructures potentially affected by landslides or land subsidence in Indonesia in January 2026.

The type of infrastructure most prone to landslides is slopes, with 1,832 points.

The next most vulnerable infrastructures are bridges and public schools, each with more than 1,000 points.

However, the Ministry of PU did not specify the distribution of these vulnerable infrastructures.

Here is the list of types of infrastructure potentially affected by landslides in January 2026, according to the Ministry of PU:

1. Slopes: 1,832 points
2. Bridges: 1,482 points
3. Public schools: 1,482 points
4. Reservoirs: 563 points
5. National roads: 546 points
6. Sediment control: 202 points
7. Dams: 196 points
8. Water Treatment Plants for Drinking Water Supply Systems (IPA SPAM): 178 points
9. Irrigation areas: 105 points
10. Operating toll roads: 48 points
11. Dam: 45 points
12. Operational dams: 43 points
13. Madrasahs: 28 points
14. Landfill sites (TPA): 25 points
15. Schools: 25 points
16. Toll gates: 18 points
17. Sewage sludge treatment plants (IPLT): 16 points
18. Beach protection: 15 points
19. Sports facilities: 15 points
20. State Universities (PTN): 8 points
21. Construction dams: 6 points
22. Wastewater treatment plants (IPAL): 5 points
23. Markets: 3 points

The Ministry of PU stated that Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) is the province most prone to landslides, with 51.12% of the areas at risk.

It is followed by Bali and West Java, with percentages of landslide-prone areas of 44.32% and 43.11% respectively.
