According to a survey by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo is the strongest presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

CSIS conducted a presidential election simulation, presenting respondents with three candidates: Ganjar Pranowo, Prabowo Subianto, and Anies Baswedan. Ganjar Pranowo received the highest support, at 33.3% of respondent votes.

In this three-candidate simulation, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan achieved an electability rating of 27.5%, while Defense Minister and Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto received the least support, at 25.7%.

An additional 7.9% of respondents supported other figures, 0.8% were undecided, and 4.9% did not know/did not answer or kept their choice confidential.

However, in terms of popularity, Prabowo Subianto was the most popular presidential candidate, known by 96.9% of respondents. Anies Baswedan was known by 91.0%, and Ganjar Pranowo by 72.7%.

Ganjar Pranowo had the highest favorability rating, with 89.9% of respondents who knew him expressing favor. Anies Baswedan's favorability rating was 85.6%, while Prabowo's was 81.1%.

CSIS also conducted head-to-head simulations with the following results:

* Anies Baswedan (47.8%) vs Ganjar Pranowo (43.9%)
* Ganjar Pranowo (47.2%) vs Prabowo Subianto (45%)
* Anies Baswedan (48.6%) vs Prabowo Subianto (42.8%)

The CSIS survey was conducted from August 8-13, 2022, involving 1,200 respondents aged 17-39 from across Indonesia's 34 provinces. A multistage random sampling method was used, with a margin of error of +/- 2.84% and a 95% confidence level.
