In How Many Regencies/Cities Did the Ganjar Pranowo-Taj Yasin Pair Win?

The gubernatorial candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Taj Yasin secured victory in the 2018 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) and will become the top two officials in Central Java. According to the General Election Commission (KPU) recapitulation based on form DC, the candidate pair garnered 10.36 million votes (58.78%). Their opponent, Sudirman Said-Ida Fauziyah, received 7.27 million votes (41.22%).

In the simultaneous regional elections held on June 27th, the Ganjar-Yasin pair won in 32 out of 35 cities/regencies in Central Java. This result ensures the incumbent Governor of Central Java will serve another term as Governor from 2018-2023. Their opponents only prevailed in three regencies/cities: Tegal Regency, Kebumen Regency, and Purbalingga Regency.

The total number of voters in the Central Java Pilkada reached 27.21 million, comprising 13.55 million male voters and 13.67 million female voters. The total votes cast in the 2018 Central Java Pilkada reached 18.41 million, consisting of 17.63 million valid votes and 779,000 invalid votes. Voter turnout reached 67.64% of the total number of voters.
