Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Investigates Alleged Corruption of Ministerial Performance Allowances (Tukin) for Employees of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM): How Much is the Allowance for Each Rank?

Allegations of corruption involving performance allowances (tukin) for employees at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) during the 2020-2022 fiscal year have been uncovered by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The KPK has obtained initial data and is investigating the motives behind the alleged corruption.

"The allegations include attempts to smooth the audit process by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK)," said KPK Spokesperson Ali Fikri, as quoted by *Katadata* from *Antara* on Tuesday (March 28, 2023).

Although the KPK has uncovered alleged corruption to facilitate the BPK audit, Ali could not elaborate on the mechanism for using the funds.

He stated that the KPK is currently investigating the flow of the corrupt funds and exploring the possibility of their use for personal needs and asset purchases.

Recently, the KPK conducted searches at four locations. KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur explained that the searches were conducted over two days, March 27-28, 2023.

The locations included the office of the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal at the Ministry of ESDM, the central office of the Ministry of ESDM, and an apartment in the Pakubuwono area.

On Tuesday (March 28, 2023), a search was also conducted in a residential area in Depok. Asep stated that the KPK found billions of rupiah in cash during the searches. These searches were carried out to gather evidence.

So, how much are the performance allowances for employees at the Ministry of ESDM?

Based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 94 of 2018 concerning Performance Allowances for Employees within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the allowances vary depending on the job class. There are at least 17 job classes in the Ministry of ESDM.

The highest allowance is for job class 17, which can reach Rp33.24 million. Job class 16 receives Rp27.57 million, and job class 15 receives Rp19.28 million.

The lowest is for job class 1, at Rp2.53 million. Job class 2 receives Rp2.7 million, and job class 3 receives Rp2.89 million.

The higher the class, the greater the allowance received.
