LSJ Survey: Prabowo Remains the Top Presidential Candidate in Electability, Here's Why

In the 2024 Presidential Election, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto will be the presidential candidate with the highest electability. This was stated in a press release of survey results from the Jakarta Survey Institute (LSJ).

Based on the LSJ survey results, Prabowo Subianto's electability rate is 27.2%. Prabowo's electability is significantly higher compared to the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, and the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, who each obtained electability as presidential candidates of 16.3% and 15.6%, respectively.

LSJ revealed that Prabowo's electability consistently remains at the top position from the survey results it released. According to LSJ researcher Fetra Ardiato, as quoted by Antara, there are three factors contributing to Prabowo's high electability.

First, the public views Prabowo Subianto as one of the best-performing ministers in President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) Cabinet.

Second, the public also views Prabowo Subianto as a national figure capable of resolving various problems facing Indonesia after President Jokowi's leadership.

Third, the only national figure who is Prabowo Subianto's strongest competitor is Jokowi. However, Jokowi is no longer eligible to run for President of the Republic of Indonesia based on constitutional rules.

According to Fetra, Prabowo Subianto is the public's only hope to lead Indonesia in the 2024-2029 period.

The LSJ survey was conducted from February 18 to 28, 2022, in 34 provinces across Indonesia. The total sample size of the LSJ survey was 1,225 respondents obtained through stratified random sampling.

The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.8%, with a 95% confidence level. Data collection was conducted through face-to-face interviews using questionnaires.
