The Lingkaran Survei Indonesia (LSI) research institute, founded by Denny JA, released its latest survey titled "The Battle of Presidential Candidate Supporting Parties," August 2023 edition.

In addition to measuring the electability trends of presidential candidate hopefuls (bacapres) Prabowo Subianto, Ganjar Pranowo, and Anies Baswedan, this survey also highlights the support from the parties or coalitions supporting these three bacapres.

The results show that the party supporting Prabowo received the highest vote share at 39%. This was followed by the coalitions supporting Ganjar and Anies, which achieved electability of 25.2% and 28.35%, respectively.

Comparing the 2019 General Election data with the LSI Denny JA survey data in August 2023, the vote share of pro-Prabowo parties remained the largest in both periods.

“Based on our survey results, the pro-Prabowo parties had the largest share of coalition seats in 2019 at 46.09%. Meanwhile, support for pro-Ganjar parties was 25.56% and support for pro-Anies parties was 28.35%,” said LSI Denny JA researcher Ade Mulyana at a virtual press conference on Wednesday (30/8/2023).

LSI grouped Prabowo's axis, consisting of four parties: Gerindra, Golkar, PKB, and PAN.

Ganjar's axis comprised two parties: PDI-P and PPP. Anies' axis consisted of three parties: Nasdem, Demokrat, and PKS.

This survey conducted by LSI Denny JA involved 1,200 respondents from various regions in Indonesia. The sample was selected using a multistage random sampling method.

Data collection was conducted from August 1-8, 2023, using face-to-face interviews with questionnaires. This survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.9% and a confidence level of 95%.
