Indonesia's economy, measured by its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices in the second quarter of 2018, reached Rp 3,683.9 trillion, growing 9.43% from the same quarter of the previous year and 5.05% compared to the previous quarter. Cumulatively, national GDP for the first semester reached Rp 7,190 trillion. Meanwhile, measured at constant 2010 prices, Indonesia's GDP in the second quarter of this year reached Rp 2,603.7 trillion, growing 5.27% from the same quarter of the previous year and increasing 4.21% from the previous quarter.
The largest contributor to the national economy was the manufacturing industry, with a GDP of Rp 730.7 trillion or 19.83% of the total GDP. This was followed by the agricultural sector with a GDP of Rp 502.15 trillion (13.63%) and wholesale and retail trade with Rp 477.72 trillion (12.97%).
The largest contributor to the second quarter 2018 GDP based on expenditure at current prices was household consumption expenditure, reaching Rp 2,042.1 trillion or approximately 55% of the total GDP. This was followed by gross fixed capital formation with a value of Rp 1,147.4 trillion. Government expenditure only reached Rp 313.1 trillion.
