Based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average worker's wage in Indonesia reached Rp3.04 million in February 2024.
This national average worker's wage increased by 3.27% from February 2023, which was still Rp2.94 million.
Of the 17 main employment sectors surveyed by BPS, 9 offered wages higher than the national average.
The highest average salary was in the finance and insurance sector, at Rp5.15 million per month in February 2024.
Next was the mining and quarrying sector with an average national salary of Rp4.94 million per month.
Then, in the top three, was the electricity, gas, steam/hot water, and air conditioning supply sector with an average salary of Rp4.85 million per month.
The following is a complete list of the 10 employment sectors with the highest average worker wages in February 2024:
1. Finance and insurance: Rp5.15 million
2. Mining and quarrying: Rp4.94 million
3. Electricity, gas, steam/hot water, and air conditioning supply: Rp4.85 million
4. Information and communication: Rp4.74 million
5. Real estate: Rp4.31 million
6. Professional and business activities: Rp3.73 million
7. Government administration, defense, and compulsory social security: Rp3.67 million
8. Transportation and warehousing: Rp3.63 million
9. Health and social activities: Rp3.35 million
10. Manufacturing industry: Rp3.03 million
Meanwhile, the employment sector with the lowest national average wage was other service activities, at only Rp1.74 million per month.
This was followed by the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector with an average wage of Rp2.24 million per month, and accommodation and food service activities at Rp2.24 million per month.
