President Prabowo Subianto aims for Indonesia's economy to grow by 8% in 2029.

This is stated in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029, established through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 12 of 2025.

To support this ambition, the government has set high growth targets in several business sectors.

The highest targets are in the business sectors of corporate services; accommodation and food services; transportation and warehousing; information and communication; and health and social services.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from these five business sectors is targeted to grow by more than 10% in 2029.

In 2024, however, no business sector achieved GDP growth above 10%.

Comparatively high targets for 2029 are also set for other service sectors; construction; finance and insurance; manufacturing; electricity and gas supply; mining and quarrying; and wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles, which are expected to grow between 7-9%.

Sectors outside these have lower growth targets, as shown in the graph.
