Based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average worker's wage in Indonesia reached Rp3.18 million per month in August 2023.
The national average worker's wage increased by 3.50% compared to August of the previous year, when the average wage was Rp3.07 million.
Of the 17 main employment sectors recorded by BPS, 10 sectors had average worker wages higher than the national average.
The highest average salary was recorded in the information and communication sector, at Rp5.13 million per month in August 2023.
Second, jobs in the financial and insurance activities sector had a national average salary of Rp5.11 million per month.
Below that, professions in the mining and quarrying sector received an average wage of Rp4.80 million per month.
The following is a complete list of the 10 employment sectors with the highest average worker wages according to the August 2023 BPS Sakernas results:
1. Information and communication: Rp5.13 million
2. Financial and insurance activities: Rp5.11 million
3. Mining and quarrying: Rp4.80 million
4. Electricity, gas, steam/hot water and air conditioning supply: Rp4.36 million
5. Real estate: Rp4.26 million
6. Professional, scientific and technical activities: Rp4.04 million
7. Public administration, defense and compulsory social security: Rp3.97 million
8. Transportation and warehousing: Rp3.79 million
9. Human health and social work activities: Rp3.67 million
10. Manufacturing: Rp3.20 million
