Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT) is a subsidiary of Medco Energi Internasional in the gold and copper mining sector, operating the Batu Hijau Mine in Nusa Tenggara.
In 2015, AMNT's gold production reached 697,000 ounces, then increased to 801,000 ounces in 2016.
However, during the 2018-2021 period, Amman Mineral's gold production was very low compared to previous years.
In 2017, Amman Mineral's gold production dropped significantly to 398,000 ounces, and further plummeted in 2018 and 2019, resulting in less than 100,000 ounces per year.
In 2020, Amman Mineral's gold production slightly increased to 132,000 ounces. By September 2021, AMNT had only produced 95,000 ounces of gold.
Medco Energi took over AMNT (formerly Newmont Nusa Tenggara) from the US mining company, Newmont, in 2016. The low gold production has led AMNT to conduct exploration phases 7 and 8 to search for additional gold reserves.
