3-Month Nickel Commodity Price Traded at US$17,385/Ton in the Morning (Friday, March 06, 2026)

Westmetall recorded that the 3-month forward nickel commodity price rose 0.38% today to the level of US$17,385 per ton. This price increase is relatively high compared to the average price movement in the past week.

This week, the nickel commodity price saw its highest jump on Wednesday, March 04, 2026, reaching 2.6%. Meanwhile, trading since the start of the year has strengthened with a year-to-date growth of 2.78%.

Current conditions are similar to the 3-month forward nickel commodity price movement in the last day, which is in an uptrend.

Over the past week, the 3-month forward nickel commodity price movement fell by -3.42% with an average daily transaction price of US$17,510 per ton. As a result, throughout 2026, the nickel commodity price has risen 2.78% from the start-of-year level of US$16,915 per ton. So far this year, the highest transaction value for nickel commodity was traded at US$17,350 per ton on Friday, February 20, 2026.

Annually, the average 3-month forward nickel commodity trading price has been on a downward trend over the past five years. Meanwhile, for monthly price monitoring, transactions in the last 12 months tend to rise. The highest average monthly nickel commodity price was recorded in January 2026 at US$18,030 per ton.

The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs recorded that in the first half of 2023, the year-on-year value of nickel and its derivative exports reached US$19.47 billion or equivalent to Rp301 trillion. In 2022, the export value of this commodity reached US$34.28 billion or Rp530.1 trillion. Nickel and its derivative exports are predicted to increase up to 20 times by 2025 due to the Indonesian government's downstreaming program.
