3-Month Nickel Commodity Futures Prices Rise for Six Consecutive Days

The 3-month nickel commodity futures price for Wednesday, February 25, 2026 trading rose. Today's 3-month nickel commodity futures trading price was recorded at US$18,000 per ton. This figure is higher than the previous day's trading price of US$17,810 per ton. The current situation completes the downward trend of 3-month nickel commodity futures prices over the last six days.

Over the past week, the 3-month nickel commodity futures price movement increased by 5.88% with an average daily trading price of US$17,400 per ton. Meanwhile, compared to the position 30 days ago, the nickel commodity price movement has grown by -0.88%. So far this year, the highest trading value for nickel commodities was transacted at US$18,975 per ton on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Annually, the average 3-month nickel commodity futures trading price over the last five years has been in a downward trend. Meanwhile, for monthly price monitoring, transactions over the last 12 months tend to rise. The highest average monthly nickel commodity price was recorded in January 2026 at US$18,030 per ton.

As reported by Katadata, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the value of nickel and its derivatives exports in 2015 was only US$3 billion. Exports of nickel and its derivatives are predicted to rise up to 20 times by 2025 due to the Indonesian government's downstreaming program. Luhut claimed that the downstreaming program has made the national economy better and stable. This is reflected in the equitable distribution of development within the country.
