The per capita food poverty line in Southeast Sulawesi province was Rp. 326,260 per capita per month in 2022. This figure increased by Rp. 22,138 compared to the previous semester's data, which was recorded at Rp. 304,130 per capita per month.
Looking back, the average increase in the poverty line in this province over the past three years was 4.05 percent. This figure is higher than the average for the previous three years (2016-2019), which was 2.63 percent.
The Poverty Line (PL) reflects the minimum rupiah expenditure needed by a person to meet their basic needs for a month, including both food and non-food needs.
The poverty line consists of two components. The food poverty line is the minimum expenditure for food needs, equivalent to 2100 kilocalories per capita per day. The non-food poverty line is the minimum expenditure for non-food needs such as housing, clothing, education, and health.
According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, the highest semester-to-semester growth in the poverty line in this province in seven years was 7.28 percent, and the lowest was 0.8 percent, with an upward trend in the poverty line. This year's poverty line growth is still higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on island, out of the six provinces in Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi's poverty line ranks fifth. Compared to the national average, growth in this province is higher.
