Crude Palm Oil (CPO) price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange remains at US$ 1,027.5 per metric ton (Thursday, April 13, 2023)

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange this morning, until 09.09 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), is US$1,027.5 per metric ton as of Thursday, April 13, 2023. This CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange shows a -2.61% decrease compared to the closing price on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, which was traded at US$1,055 per metric ton. Today's CPO trading on the Rotterdam commodity exchange is expected to range from US$1,027.5 to US$1,055 per metric ton.

According to investing.com, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has fallen by 0.24% in the past week. However, compared to 30 days prior, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has increased by 5.38%.

Before Russia's attack on Ukraine, the CPO price on the Rotterdam spot market was at US$1,640 per ton (February 23, 2022). After the invasion, the CPO price surged for two weeks.

Compared to the end of last year, which was at US$1,305 per ton, the palm oil price has plummeted by -21.26% (Year to Date/YTD). However, compared to the lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has risen by 5.38%.

The increase in CPO prices has also impacted the price of cooking oil in Indonesia. Cooking oil prices in various regions are above Rp 20,000 per liter. There were even times when cooking oil was scarce in the market.

However, for the one-year data range, CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has actually decreased. The previous highest record reached US$1,912.5 per metric ton.

For the period January-April 2023, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has shown a downward trend, moving -0.24% compared to the beginning of the year, which was at US$1,030 per metric ton.
