2016, Telecommunications Sector Shows Highest Growth

Throughout 2016, publicly listed companies (issuers) in the telecommunications sector recorded the highest profit growth. As reported by *Kontan*, telecommunications issuers led the way with an average profit growth of 318.97 percent. The increase in net profit was mainly driven by internet data revenue, in line with the increasing trend of smartphone usage.

Second place was occupied by issuers in the basic industry sector, with growth reaching 222.15 percent. Plantation and mining commodity issuers followed, with growth of 101.14 and 92.5 percent respectively. This year's projection indicates that profit growth will not be significantly different from the previous year. The performance of issuers with small to medium capitalization has the potential for significant growth.
