Astra International Achieves Net Profit of Rp 14.98 Trillion until Q3 2021

PT Astra International Tbk achieved a net profit of Rp 14.98 trillion by the third quarter of 2021. This figure represents a 6.68% year-on-year (yoy) increase compared to the same period the previous year, but remains below pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels.

Excluding the profit from the sale of shares in PT Bank Permata Tbk, the company's net profit surged by 84% (yoy). As is known, Astra gained Rp 5.88 trillion from the sale of Bank Permata in 2020.

The growth in net profit for the company with the stock code ASII was supported by a 28.43% yoy increase in revenue to Rp 167.4 trillion from January to September 2021. However, the cost of sales also increased by 29.8% (yoy) to Rp 131.15 trillion.

40% of Astra's revenue in the first nine months of this year came from its automotive sector subsidiaries. 34% of ASII's revenue originated from subsidiaries in the heavy equipment, mining, construction, and energy sectors.

Revenue contributions from Astra's subsidiaries in the financial services and agribusiness sectors were each 11%. Other subsidiaries contributed 4% of Astra's revenue.

The share price of the ASII-coded issuer closed at Rp 6,000 per share on Thursday, October 28, 2021. This price is a slight 2% increase compared to the end of December 2020.
