PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI)'s financial report shows that the state-owned bank's net profit reached Rp60.15 trillion in 2024.
This profit only increased by 0.09% year-on-year (yoy) from Rp60.09 trillion in 2023.
In contrast, interest and sharia income increased by 9.96% (yoy), rising from Rp181.21 trillion in 2023 to Rp199.26 trillion in 2024.
However, the interest expense for the issuer with the stock code BBRI reached Rp56.2 trillion in 2024, up from Rp42.65 trillion in 2023. Sharia expenses amounted to Rp1 trillion in 2024, down from Rp1.15 trillion in 2023.
Due to these expenses, net interest and sharia income reached Rp142.05 trillion in 2024, a 3.38% increase from Rp137.4 trillion in 2023.

According to *Katadata*, BBRI recorded impairment losses of Rp41.75 trillion in 2024, up from Rp29.52 trillion the previous year.
In addition, BRI recorded several other expenses that impacted its performance. BRI recorded personnel expenses of Rp39.18 trillion, promotional expenses of Rp2.73 trillion, and other expenses of Rp54.83 trillion. BRI's total operating expenses reached Rp66.72 trillion, resulting in total operating losses of Rp78.58 trillion.
BRI disbursed Rp1,348.20 trillion in conventional and sharia loans and credit. This disbursement increased by 7.98% in 2024 from Rp1,248.51 trillion in the previous year. Total disbursed UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) credit amounted to Rp1,110.37 trillion.
Total assets as of December 2024 amounted to Rp1,992.98 trillion, up from Rp1,965 trillion in the previous year.
BRI's liabilities were recorded at Rp1,669.79 trillion and equity at Rp323.18 trillion in 2024.
