10 Provinces with the Biggest Decreases in Bulk Cooking Oil Prices

To address the cooking oil shortage and price surge, the government halted palm oil (crude palm oil/CPO) and its derivative exports starting April 28, 2022.

However, this ban lasted less than a month. Starting May 23, 2022, the government resumed exports of these commodities.

This policy successfully suppressed the price of bulk cooking oil in several regions. However, the decrease was not significant, and prices remained above the government-set Highest Retail Price (HET) of Rp14,000 per liter.

The following is a complete list of the 10 provinces with the largest decreases in bulk cooking oil prices during the April 28 - May 30, 2022 period:

* Southeast Sulawesi: down Rp8,100 to Rp16,900 per liter
* Gorontalo: down Rp6,650 to Rp21,850 per liter
* Central Kalimantan: down Rp4,400 to Rp16,550 per liter
* North Sulawesi: down Rp3,400 to Rp17,400 per liter
* West Java: down Rp2,800 to Rp17,650 per liter
* Central Sulawesi: down Rp2,800 to Rp22,200 per liter
* Jakarta: down Rp2,650 to Rp18,700 per liter
* West Kalimantan: down Rp2,500 to Rp15,600 per liter
* Central Java: down Rp2,150 to Rp16,500 per liter
* East Java: down Rp2,050 to Rp16,500 per liter

Since the resumption of exports until today, May 23-30, 2022, the largest decreases in bulk cooking oil prices occurred in the following 10 provinces:

* Central Kalimantan: down Rp1,450 per liter
* North Sulawesi: down Rp1,200 per liter
* Gorontalo: down Rp1,150 per liter
* Jakarta: down Rp1,150 per liter
* West Java: down Rp900 per liter
* West Nusa Tenggara: down Rp700 per liter
* South Sumatra: down Rp450 per liter
* Riau: down Rp450 per liter
* West Sulawesi: down Rp400 per liter
* South Sulawesi: down Rp350 per liter
