This year's annual growth in the poverty line is the highest ever recorded at 9.18 percent. This is the highest growth rate in the last eight years.

The poverty line consists of two components. The food poverty line is the minimum expenditure for food needs, equivalent to 2100 kilocalories per capita per day. The non-food poverty line is the minimum expenditure for non-food needs such as housing, clothing, education, and health.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, the highest semester-on-semester growth in the poverty line in this province in seven years was 6.58 percent, and the lowest was 0.07 percent, with an upward trend in the poverty line. This year's poverty line growth is still higher than before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Based on the island, out of the six provinces in Sulawesi, this province has the second-highest poverty line. Compared to the national average, the growth in this province is higher.
