PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) reported a net profit of Rp6.36 trillion in 2022. This represents a decrease of approximately Rp1.3 trillion, or 17%, compared to the previous year (year-on-year/yoy).
"2022 was a challenging year, marked by escalating geopolitical tensions, high inflation, and rising commodity prices, creating market uncertainty," said INDF President Director Anthoni Salim in a press release on Monday (March 27, 2023).
"Nevertheless, Indofood ended 2022 on a positive note, supported by our robust business model. For 2023, our growth strategy is to continue balancing market share with profitability and maintaining a healthy balance sheet," he continued.
Despite the decline in profit, INDF's total assets increased by 0.64% (yoy) to Rp180.43 trillion at the end of 2022.
Total liabilities decreased by 5.9% (yoy) to Rp86.81 trillion, and total equity increased by 7.6% (yoy) to Rp93.62 trillion.
INDF also rejoined the LQ45 index for the February-July 2023 period. The LQ45 is a list of 45 issuers selected by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) based on specific criteria, such as large market capitalization and high liquidity.
