The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) reports that Indonesia's seaweed export weight fluctuated from 2018 to 2024.
In 2018, the volume reached 212,960 tons. It decreased by 1.74% to 209,240 tons in 2019.
Seaweed volume further dropped by 6.53% to 195,570 tons in 2020.
However, export volume surged in subsequent years. It reached 225,610 tons in 2021 and 253,680 tons in 2022.
Export weight in 2023 reached 265,840 tons, the highest in the last seven years.

Preliminary data for 2024 shows 120,340 tons.
